Laneway

Shakespeare noted, ‘All the world’s a stage’. I recently photographed a Montreal laneway and was struck by its resemblance to a theatrical set. I was inspired to explore the nature of illusion and the notion of truth in photography. Using the laneway as a backdrop, I overlaid images that I imported from my catalogue of photographs, creating a series of vignettes, each with a distinct visual style and emotional range, blurring the line between photographic reality and constructed fiction. |
